Slowly easing back into work mode after grieving the loss of three family members in a tragic crime earlier this year, Jennifer Hudson has lined up her first public appearance since her mom, brother and nephew’s deaths.

The 27-year-old “American Idol” alum will be taking the stage at the MusiCares person of the year gala on February 6, according to Variety reports.
